How to remove users from your Pylon workspace

Last updated: June 18, 2026

You can remove users from your Pylon workspace directly through the web interface following the steps below.

Removing a user via the UI

To remove a user from your Pylon workspace:

  1. Navigate to Settings > Users

  2. Click on the user's name (not the checkbox) to open their profile

  3. Click the Deactivate button in the upper right corner of the screen

  4. Confirm the deactivation in the pop-up modal

Note: Removing a user is the only way to prevent them from appearing in the assignee dropdown. View-only users and integration users will still appear as assignable options even if they don't actively use the app.

Alternative methods for restricting access

If you need to limit a user's access without fully removing them, you have several options:

Change user roles

In Settings > Users, you can:

  • Change the user's role to Viewer to restrict their capabilities

  • Convert them to Slack-only by revoking their web login access

  • Suspend a user to prevent them from logging in

    • Suspended users can still be assigned tickets and appear in the assignee dropdown

These actions require Admin access and don't need engineering support. Learn more about Roles & User Management.

SSO/SCIM deprovisioning

If your organization uses SSO/SCIM, you can have your IT admin deprovision the user in your identity provider, which will automatically remove their access to Pylon. This can be configured in the Access & SSO settings within Pylon.
